Hyperthermic Conditioning

Hyperthermic conditioning is a fancy way to describe the positive thing that happens to your body when you acclimate it to heat while working out in the Hot Box Detox sauna. Working out has its obvious benefits, but when combined with heat acclimation, wonderful fitness advantages begin to happen as your body adapts to the heat!

“These adaptations include increased plasma volume and blood flow to your heart and muscles (which increase athletic endurance) along with increased muscle mass due to greater levels of heat-shock proteins and growth hormone.”

According to Dr. Rhonda Perciavalle Patrick, who originated the term “hyperthermic conditioning”, two 15-minute sauna sessions separated by a 30-minute cooling period may boost your HGH by five-fold.

Benefits

  • Improves endurance training outcomes because muscles rely less on local glycogen stores;

  • Increases blood flow to the heart therefore improves cardiovascular conditioning, as it lowers the heart rate required for the same workload;

  • Allows improved heat acclimation so your body begins to sweat at a lower core body temperature.

You get this benefit from 30 minutes lying in a sauna Pod twice a week. After about six weeks of such heat work, runners experienced a 32% increase in the distance they could run before exhaustion, and that corresponded with a 7% increase in plasma volume and a corresponding 3.5% increase in their red blood cell count which is thought to be a compensation for increased plasma volume.

This happens via the induction of Human Growth Hormone (“HGH”):
HGH can be increased two fold over baseline by two back-to-back 20-minute sauna sessions at 176 degrees Fahrenheit (80 degrees Celcius).
If that’s insufficient, you can get more extreme. Two one-hour sauna sessions separated by a 30 minute cooling off period for three consecutive days increased HGH expression over baseline by 16 fold!

Medilift

Picture
Medilift is a technique based on the response of muscles to electric stimulation. It is considered the new era of electrostimulation giving impulses 16 times stronger than normal EMS.
  • Tone your muscles anywhere on the body.
  • Decrease and mobilize fat in certain areas.
  • Tone and tighten the skin over the muscles.
  • Bulk muscles, 1 session of medilft equals 6 hours at the gym.
Does it works?
You bet! A recent study entitled “Effects of high-frequency current therapy on abdominal obesity in young women: a randomized controlled trial” is a perfect example of what we can achieve with EMS.

In summary, 30 minutes of normal EMS placed on the stomach 3 times per week for 6 weeks (a total of 18 EMS sessions) caused significant effects on decreasing waist circumference, abdominal obesity, subcutaneous fat mass, and body fat percentage.
